My Story

Leadership isn't about holding a title, it's about holding responsibility. I am ready to serve, listen and lead FSU forward. I am Shadé Dias, and I’m running to be your next FSU President. I’m a proud Londoner with deep Caribbean roots, and my passion for leadership, advocacy, and community has shaped every part of my journey at Fanshawe College. I’m currently pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Management) because I believe leadership like business is ultimately about people. Throughout my time at Fanshawe, I’ve served students in a variety of leadership and governance roles, such as serving as Board Chair and representing students as a Board of Governors student representative. In each role, my focus has been clear: ensuring student voices are heard, respected, and reflected in decision-making. In recognition of this work, I was honoured to receive the Excellent Leadership Award for Student Excellence in Leadership from Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan)—a national award recognizing student leaders across Canada. This recognition means a great deal to me, not only personally, but as a proud representative of the Fanshawe College community. It serves as a reminder that leadership is rooted in service, passion, and purpose, and that meaningful impact is created through collective effort. These experiences have reinforced my belief that student success goes beyond academics, it’s about opportunity, belonging, and feeling supported on campus. This is why I'm running, because this campaign is not just about me, it's about us. Together, let’s build a stronger, more inclusive campus and move Fanshawe Forward.

Thank you, One Love!
